Anna's Apiary
On June 4th two three pound packages of bees will arrive at the Schuster small holding. Though skeps would be lovely and period they are sadly not permitted to house bees in the U.S. - sadly because of their picturesqueness but skeps are unfortunate in the destructive way in which honey needs to be extracted. The little Italian beauties will be introduced into their Langstroth boxes in the evening hours to encourage them to stay. Anyone wanting to witness the process may contact the seneschal at http://www.rivenwoodtower.org/ for details on dress and bee etiquette. Perfume, noise and erratic movements not recommended.
